Seeman may contest in elections!

On Saturday there was a meeting of directors union in Chennai.

Nearly 150 directors took part in the meet, and all of them were unanimous that something has to be done for Seeman who is still in prison for his pro- LTTE speech.

The directors led by Bharathiraja wants him to contest the Lok Sabha elections, and show that the Sri Lankan Tamil problem is an election issue.

They will be requesting Seeman to contest the elections from Sivaganga, Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram’s constituency!

The symbolic fight, is sure going to make elections in Tamilnadu interesting. Now it is up to Seeman to decide whether he should contest the elections or not.

It is now known that a decision was taken among the directors in Chennai recently to make Seeman representative of them and make him contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. The reason? The group of directors, headed by Bharathiraja, has decided to see whether people are in support of their protest again the carnage over Eelam Tamils.

The directors have now decided to make Seeman contest in a constituency against one of Congress’ top rung leaders like P Chidambaram.

Seeman’s success will be an indicator of the people’s response to the protests that the film fraternity has been making. If he succeeds, their protests will intensify and in case he doesn't win, it might mean an end to their vociferous outpours against the genocide in Sri Lanka.
